Fund raising event for Burning Coal Theater Raleigh NC, on June 20, 2010
The Poetry and Medicine Conference at Duke University held on May 22, 2010 with guest speakers David Whyte and Jane Hirchfield was a wonderfully inspiring week-end. Thanks you, Grey Brown, for pulling this all together with such pizzazz. We had fun singing for this appreciative audience.
2010 Mid-Atlantic Harmony Sweepstakes Competition at the Birchmere in Alexandria, Virginia on April 10.
We were thrilled to win an award for best original song, RAINY SEASON, written by SARAH KENAN SHUNK with words by Roberta Beary.

A Salon of Music, Poetry, & Theater Common Ground, Durham, NC featured fleur-de-lisa Grey Brown, poet Cluck Variations, a play by Richard Krawiec
********************************* The Musicoal Summer Series, an evening of music, dance and theatre took place on July 12, at Burning Coal's Meymandi Theatre at the Murphy School in Raleigh, NC. Fleur-de-Lisa sang many new songs, including one based on a poem by Jaki Shelton Green, Piedmont Poet Laureate, and one by Kathryn Stripling Byer, NC poet laureate. Performances included monologues by local actors Allan Maule, Ashley Quinones, Marcy Corprew, 'Rie Shontel, and Ledawna Akins. Also featured were dances choreographed by Matney Murad & Carol Finley, director of Dance and Artistic Director of Meredith Dance Theater, danced by Matney Murad & Aleah Ham. All added a beautiful touch to this spectacular evening.
Many thanks to Johannah Maynard for working with the actors and Richard Krawiec for creating, coordinating and producing this truly unique event.
************************************ The First Sunday Afternoon Salon February 15, 2009 PSI Theater, Durham Arts Council We had a full house and enthusiastic audience.
The performance also featured Grey Brown, a finalist for the Piedmont Poet laureate and rising classical guitarist, David Krawiec. Friends of Jaki Shelton Green, the first Piedmont poet laureate, read her poetry and Fleur-de-Lisa performed one of her poems set to music.
